Story

From the Zap to Disappear

Coco Steel & Lovebomb began as a concept group created by Chris Coco in the early 90s. Their first single, Feel It, grew out of his resident DJ slots at the Coco Club at the Zap in Brighton, which ran from 1989 to 1994, and was a big hit there.

The line-up was Chris Coco (Coco), Lene Stokes (Steel) and Craig Woodrow (Lovebomb). They made the album It! for Warp Records in 1994, then two albums of experimental sampled electronica for A Man Called Adam's Other Records. Those records included Yachts, which has since gone viral on Instagram in Mexico.

In 2014 they returned with a CD, The Chillout Album, then went quiet again until Kino arrived on Disappear in December 2023. Since then the group has released a run of new acid and house tracks, with guests including Suddi Raval of Together on the 303, vocalist Sylvia Palms and singer Louis Vann Johnson.
